Learning is a key driver for scaling up successful innovations and catalysing just transitions to sustainability in contexts of complexity and uncertainty. However, innovation projects often lack the time to collectively interpret findings and build shared knowledge, limiting their potential for scalability.

The central question of this project is:

To what extent can a learning lab among just transition actors in Madrid increase the effectiveness of individual and collective initiatives and strengthen their coalition?

In this project, we are working closely with eighth organisations that have been working on just transitions in the city of Madrid for a number of years, with the support of the Porticus Just Urban Transitions Programme: Dark Matter Labs, Democratic Society, EAPN Madrid, Foro Nesi, Fundación Montemadrid, ICE-UPM, Tangente and ICLEI.

For a year and a half, we will co-create an ongoing space for exploratory, creative and horizontal dialogue to share experiences and co-construct learning, with a particular focus on the narratives needed to advance just transitions.

Our aim is to acquire new knowledge, tools and skills that will strengthen our individual, organisational and coalitional capacities to advance just transitions, with a particular emphasis on collaboration.

Atelier itd facilitates the learning sessions designed by the participating organisations, ensuring the application of a dialogical approach that promotes cooperative and social learning. We also contribute to the development of the model and methodology for the design, management and evaluation of the learning laboratory.
